Eep, I've been spotted!!
Here, cold is measured by how painful it is. Once the temperatures drop below freezing, they rarely go back above it until April. The snow is so deep that it reaches the bottom of my windows, and that's not a snowdrift it's the actual level of the snow. The roads are skating rinks, and several times this year the government has closed major highways because they were impossable to navigate. Because it's so cold, the snow doesn't pack so its useless for making snowmen or having snowball fights, and it's even too soft to go skiing or sledding or snowboarding on it. Not that you could anyway, it's too flat here. Sometimes, when you walk outside, the wind stings your face so bad that your eyes water, and then the cold freezes the tears to your eyelashes, sealing your eyes shut. Winter is evil.
How about this, we ban the months of November through March, that way no winter in the U.S. and no summer in Australia!
